I agree, even from London, Daventry is not the easiest place to get to. The nearest train station is 6 miles away. There is a local bus that runs between the station and Daventry. But, on a Saturday, the first bus doesn't get to the venue in time for the start meaning a taxi is necessary. Loughborough, by comparison, is well connected by rail. And the venue is walkable from the station.
I appreciate you can't please everyone, and I certainly don't mind a longer journey to a more central location. But, I think it's imperative that wherever the venue is, it is well served by public transport to ensure that the maximum number of people can attend. Train travel, if booked in advance, is still relatively cheap. By comparison, car-hire is expensive, and, let's not forget, for many, car ownership is an unaffordable luxury.
For those who found driving to Loughborough difficult, I suggest getting the train.
